Role Summary To support the Spa Manager and Assistant Manager with the day to day running of all of the Spa operations in line with current Spa and retail standards.   Co-ordinate resources to deliver the services dependent upon the demands of the business and the service level agreement.   To act as initial point of contact for all customer groups using the facilities within your control. This is a key role in mentoring and ensuring an outstanding real world learning experience for the students. The candidate will be forward thinking with an ability to support and drive the activity within the spa operation.
Principal Accountabilities
 Assist in developing and implementing the Spa facilities, ensuring the level of customer service, quality of offer, presentation of the Spa experience, changing areas, treatment rooms and retail areas are maintained to the agreed standards  Ensure the appropriate placement of effective internal and external marketing of the Spa facilities in line with direction from the Spa manager for the business  Assist in developing each area of the operation in line with customer expectations/budgetary constraints and agreed offer development plans  Support the Spa Manager in organising all Spa employees, and resources needed to deliver the day to day running of the Spa and Spa events; including but not limited to the ordering of products and consumables, Spa lunches and refreshments  Take responsibility for the front of house day-to-day operations of the Spa, reacting to changing customer demands in relation to academic and non-academic periods of the year  Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Spa throughout the year working 5 days out of 7 to include weekends and some bank holidays Liaise with customers to make sure their requirements are met at all times

 Proactively handle any customer complaints within the operations and use reasonable recompense to resolve any advised issues in consultation with the Spa Manager  Liaise with the other relevant departments including kitchen, cleaners and caretakers to ensure that everyone understands the requirements of the Spa facilities  Deliver the operations as directed by the Spa Management to include delivery of external retail brands to the required standard.  Assist in the delivery of an environment that emphasises motivation, empowerment, teamwork and a passion for service  Provide excellent customer service and respond quickly and proactively to guests' needs  Role model the spa service culture as described in the Values Statements  Assist in delivery of compliance with all Health & Safety policies, standards and procedures by supervising, follow-up and hands on management  Carry out pool tests throughout the day, maintaining safe pool chemical levels and the top up of any chemical where necessary; carry out top up of pool chemicals and weekly backwash  Maintain service standards in all areas including the cleanliness and presentation of the Spa, reception area, treatment rooms and changing areas  Understand the impact of the departments' operation on the overall financial contribution of Buxton Commercial operations by ensuring that all operations are run efficiently effectively and to set budgets  Assist in the effective induction, review and development plans for staff within the areas managed and to maintain appropriate records. Undertake any reasonable duties that may be required relating to the effective operation and development of commercial areas as directed by the Assistant Manager/Spa Manager
